Patna: Mrs Chhaya Mishra, former joint secretary of Patna High Court Advocates Association on Thursday suggested now time has come when High Court Should introduce physical hearing with standard operating procedures in selected courts.
She said the three_members bench headed by the honourable chief justice , Sanjay Karol and justice Dinesh Kumar Singh and justice Hemant Kumar Srivastava , has directed the stakeholders , the three associations of lawyers to discuss among themselves on the issue and put the hearing to October 5.The association can meet on September 29 to take a final call.
Supreme Court, Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court and Madras High Court have introduced physical hearing on limited scales. It can be tried in some selected courts with bigger space providing social distancing too as six suffocating months since March have caused huge financial, intellectual and physical loss to the lawyers and their clients.
Parliament had its monsoon session, legislatures also met in several states, including Bihar, MP, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan during worst Corona period, now Bar and the Bench should review the situation and start physical hearing at the earliest, said Chhaya Mishra.
